The skill that makes a repair invisible
Anyone can slap mud on a hole. Making it disappear is a different craft. Texture matching is the difference between a wall that looks repaired and a wall that looks like nothing ever happened β and itβs what Patch Plus Paint is known for.
Tape and bed
Before any texture goes on, new or repaired drywall has to be taped and bedded β the seams taped and the joints coated and smoothed so the surface is flat and solid. We handle this foundation step properly, because no texture or paint looks right over a bad tape-and-bed job.
Textures we match
- Orange peel β the fine, bumpy spray texture
- Knockdown β the flattened, mottled look common in newer homes
- Popcorn β acoustic ceiling texture
- Hand texture β custom, trowel-applied finishes
- Crows foot β the stippled, fanned pattern
- Smooth finishes β flat, texture-free walls and ceilings
- Level 5 smooth finish β the highest-standard, fully skim-coated smooth surface
When you need texture matching
- After a drywall or ceiling repair
- After removing wallpaper or a built-in
- After water damage repair
- When a previous patch was done poorly and stands out
How it works
- We assess the existing texture and, on tricky finishes, test a small area first.
- We blend or re-texture to match the surrounding surface.
- We paint so the match is seamless and complete.
